Maria is the author of Hoarding for Law Enforcement and Other Public Officials. This book explores the mental state of people who hoard, the types of things they hoard and how to communicate with them to improve their chances of success. It’s a quick read with a humorous touch on a dark subject. She is currently working on follow-up book for families.

She has presented topics to other Organizers through both NAPO and ICD; law enforcement through such venues as the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy and the FBI; and mental health professionals at NAMI.
