Maria Spetalnik is a Certified Professional Organizer® with more than 25 years of experience.  She has Certificates of Study from the Institute of Challenging Disorganization and holds Specialist Certificates in Elders, Chronic Disorganization and Hoarding. Through her professional organizing company, Conquer the Clutter, she has helped others take control of their homes and lives by helping them get the clutter out of their lives. Maria is the author of Hoarding for Law Enforcement and Other Public Officials. This book explores the mental state of people who hoard, the types of things they hoard and how to communicate with them to improve their chances of success. It’s a quick read with a humorous touch on a dark subject. She is currently working on follow-up book for families.

Maria speaks nationally on several clutter related topics, including Hoarding; Paperwork; and Sewing Room Organization. She has presented topics to other Organizers through both NAPO and ICD; law enforcement through such venues as the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy and the FBI; and mental health professionals at NAMI.
